Pile of Shame
Scott and Adam inspired me. Here’s my pile of shame, the list of games that I currently have sitting in a state of unfinished…ness that is unsatisfactory to me:
XBox 360
- Assassin’s Creed: I’m roughly halfway through. Got bored with it at the time, could probably stand to come back to it now that I’ve played other things
- Beatles Rock Band: need to finish main story mode
- Blue Dragon: Played 6-8 hours last year, got distracted, never came back
- Bully: Played 2 hours before being ridiculed into not playing any more in front of friends. Game seems to have some major flaws but is intriguing to me anyway.
- Brutal Legend: Only a few missions in, but I am really enjoying it. Will finish for sure.
- Burnout Paradise: Should play more often when I want to listen to podcasts or music.
- Crackdown: Started a long time ago, just before I lost all of my 360 saves. Would have to start over. Feeling kind of hesitant for that reason
- Fable 2: Halfway through. Should pick back up, it was fun and you don’t lose progress when you die
- Fallout 3: Having a really hard time getting into this one. I’d really like to like it but don’t. Probably most likely to abandon in this list
- Grand Theft Auto 4: Stuck about four missions from the end of the game. I’d like to finish this but I can’t beat it and it’s infuriating when I fail. I also want to buy/play the DLC packs but not until I finish the main campaign.
- Halo 3 ODST: Bought a month ago, started, decided to go with Brutal Legend first. Will definitely come back.
- Left 4 Dead: I still haven’t beat the fourth campaign. I’ve made it to the final encounter but I can’t find a group of competent players on XBox 360 to play with since the launch of the game and having idiots (or the terrible AI) on your team makes it basically impossible to survive this, from what I can tell.
- Lost Odyssey: Haven’t started
- Mass Effect: Really liked this game, but it’s very intimidating compared to the other kinds of things I’ve been playing. I’d like to come back to this soon since Mass Effect 2 looks promising (in terms of the game mechanics changes)
- Splosion Man: Missing 3 cakes, intent on not FAQing these. Would also like to play through the multiplayer stages
- Elder Scrolls: Oblivion: Have finished the tutorial underground level. Didn’t enjoy. May also abandon (I apparently hate Bethesda Softworks)
- Red Faction Guerrilla: In the middle of this. It was fun. It got a little repetitive and too open-world for me to stick with it.
- Marvel vs Capcom 2: I’d like to get better at this game.
- Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise: Haven’t started
Wii
- Klonoa: Got very close to the end before getting distracted. Should really finish, it’s a very short game
- MadWorld: Haven’t started, just watched my roommate play the first 3 levels
- Marble Saga Kororinpa: A third of the way through
- Sam & Max: Season One: Played Episodes 1 & 4 with my roommate, would like to play through all of them with Gretchen
- Zack & Wiki: Somewhere in the middle of this from when it first came out. I’d like to start over with Gretchen
Playstation 2
- Disgaea 2: Haven’t started
- Final Fantasy XII: Got clobbered by the first judge, never went back, not sure why. Would need to start over.
- Gitaroo Man: Some day I will beat this on Master Mode
- Persona 4: Haven’t started
- Shadows Hearts 1-3: Haven’t started
- Sly Cooper 1-3: Nearing the end of 1. Really enjoying it, looking forward to seeing how the series improved over time
- Wild Arms 2-4: Haven’t started
Other
- Baten Kaitos 1&2 (Gamecube): Haven’t started
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fates & Echoes of Time (DS) I was supposed to play through these with other people, but we only ever played each once. Considering playing through single player modes.
- Torchlight (PC): Loving this. Have reached dungeon level 20ish. Will probably be playing for a few years anyway.
- World of Warcraft (PC): the character I play with Gretchen is level 73, I think I’d like to reach 80 before Cataclysm comes out just so I can be at the level cap of an MMO for the first time in my life
Maybe I should just stop buying new games entirely for a while. (P.S. brb going to go buy New Super Mario Bros Wii)
